Safety training programme - Trinity term 2025

Booking is now available for safety training courses for Trinity term 2025. Take a look at our current offers and new additions for each category. Please be aware that our new in-person COSHH and Risk Assessment courses will run as workshops, tailored to your needs. Your place will be confirmed as ‘booked’ once you have completed the prerequisites for the workshop you wish to attend.

Note to staff & students:

Receiving adequate safety training before you start your work activities is a legal requirement, so speak to your line manager or supervisor about what training you need to undertake. Please consult the course description to complete all pre-requisites for classroom or webinar bookings or check browser/user instructions for eLearning packages.

Note to supervisors & managers:

If you manage or supervise others, fulfil your legal responsibility by making sure your staff and students receive all the training necessary for their role.

Charging policy

The University Safety Office funds all course formats (classroom, webinar and eLearning) available to all University staff and students free of charge if the following requirements are met:

• Classroom & Webinar: Delegates attend the course as scheduled. Any existing booking must be cancelled five or more working days prior to the scheduled training date. [Failure to cancel or late cancellation of any booking will be charged at £50 excl VAT per delegate and course, payable by the department the delegate is affiliated with at the end of each term]
• eLearning: Delegates complete the course within three months after confirmed booking. [Failure to do so will incur the full course fee to be charged to the department the delegate is affiliated with at the end of each term. eLearning fees are topic-dependent and vary from £2.50 - £65.00 excl VAT per delegate and course]
