The Safety Office supports the University in its strategic aim of delivering high standards of health and safety management.  Our services support staff, students, contractors and visitors, whether they are based in Oxford or elsewhere.  We aim to provide practical solutions across a wide range of activities, including research, teaching, maintenance and capital projects.

We develop policy statements for a range of topics, which are then approved by the University for implementation.  We support departments in their implementation by producing guidance and through the provision of a health and safety training programme.  We work closely with our network of safety officers and provide assurance services to monitor compliance against legislation.
